Arcus was asked to carry out space management audits of the University of Liverpool’s City Campus to highlight any rooms within the buildings that were underutilised and could potentially provide additional teaching spaces for the University.
We surveyed 75no. buildings throughout the University’s North, Central and South Campus to identify rooms that were capable of holding eight or more people, plus a lecturer. The layout and shape of the room was considered as this would also have an impact on the usability of the room.
Arcus identified 122 possible additional teaching spaces, which were previously underutilised rooms, thereby increasing available teaching spaces for lecturers and tutors and reducing the University’s new building requirements.
