Arcus were appointed as lead consultants by Mosscare St Vincent’s Housing Group for the extension, remodelling and refurbishment of the two 1970’s sheltered accommodation schemes in Manchester, Hartshorne & Cardinal Court, after the client received funding from the Sisters of Joseph. The works were carried out via a competitive tender utilising the JCT 2016 intermediate form of contract with contractors design.

The end results have been extremely well received: previously dark and confined communal lounge spaces now feel spacious and well ventilated and all of the communal areas including corridors, communal kitchen and reception have been transformed into modern accommodation to reflect the hotel style brief initially agreed. Disruption to residents has been minimal throughout and close engagement with all stakeholders has continued as works have progressed on site.

We have always found them to be very helpful and enthusiastic in the delivery of a wide range of service for us.  They are consultants who are enjoyable to work with and who care about the projects in which they are involved. They always keep us informed of progress and if things do go a little off track, as the can from time to time, they are proactive at ensuing issues are quickly resolved and relationships between all parties remain strong. We have a strong and longstanding relationship with them and trust them with our projects.
