Arcus was appointed to Brookfields School for the refurbishment of their hydrotherapy pool and boiler replacement.

This is a busy community school in Widnes, with quality educational facilities for pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties and autistic spectrum disorders. The pool refurbishments new internal layout included a pre-shower area, increased changing and WC facilities, stepped access into the pool, double-glazed windows and doors, LED light fittings and a new insulated pool roller cover. An energy bill following completion was reported by the school to have reduced by up to a quarter.

The finished facility is an excellent addition to a school already offering an exceptional learning environment for its pupils. Since the refurbishment works have been completed, the school has been shortlisted in Ofsted’s top 18 ‘Outstanding’ Schools in the Halton Borough, which encompasses 65 schools in Runcorn and Widnes.
