Shaun works out of our Liverpool Office as a Building Surveyor. We asked him a few questions to get to know him better…
Hi Shaun, how long have you worked at Arcus and what was your previous background?
I’ve worked at Arcus for the past three years, starting off as a University Placement student. Fortunately, I was offered the opportunity to stay with Arcus during my final year of studies at Liverpool John Moores’ University and progressed into a full-time position on completion of my degree.
What’s your typical workday like?
Varied! I could be out-and-about carrying out surveying tasks such as condition and measured surveys to a wide assortment of properties, or I can be in the office working on multiple projects, producing schedules of works and associated drawings, or preparing tender packs for a client.
What’s your favourite aspect of your job?
Knowing that the projects I am involved with are improving not only the built environment but are also having a positive effect on people’s lives.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I’m a season ticket holder at Liverpool FC and have travelled all over Europe supporting them. I also love attending gigs and festivals, enjoying a broad spectrum of music from Metal to Motown!
If you were stranded on a desert island, what one item would you take with you?
Sun cream – I burn very easily!
