Lisette works out of our London Office as a Principal Designer. We asked her a few questions to get to know her better…
Hi Lisette, how long have you worked at Arcus and what was your previous background?
I’ve been working at Arcus for a little bit over 3 years now. When I first started at Arcus, I was freshly graduate Architectural Technician and I was given the opportunity to start an internship as an Assistant Principal Designer. Having completed my internship, I now act as a Principal Designer on many different projects.
What’s your typical workday like?
It will depend on which projects I’m working on; some days I could be attending to DTM and progress meetings all day, other days I could be travelling to sites to carry out a site inspection, and the rest of the time I would be replying emails or making calls and getting all my paperwork done.
What’s your favourite aspect of your job?
I would definitely say visiting construction sites and meeting a lot of new people, though my responsibilities on every project are generally always the same, every single project is different. It is amazing to visit a new build scheme site at any stages and get to see how a building comes to live – I learn something new every day and that keeps me motivated.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I’m quite of a homey person, I enjoy my time drawing and doing some crafting, listening to music and watching Korean and Turkish dramas. I’m also very interested in learning foreign languages.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what one item would you take with you?
A Bible – no better time for me to be connected with God but when I’m alone.
