Hard Hat Awareness Week

Construction sites can be very dangerous places, especially when it comes to head injuries. Now in its fifth year, Hard Hat Awareness Week was introduced to encourage best practice around safety equipment, awareness of head injuries, and educate on real-life impact scenarios, rotational injuries and how they occur.

As experienced Principal Designers and CDM-Advisors, Arcus take site safety seriously: “Arcus are passionate about the correct use of safety equipment. We hope that Hard Hat Awareness Week will help operatives to understand the need to wear and maintain correctly their hard hat to avoid the possibility of brain injury, and its impact on a worker’s life, their partner, family members and friends. Stay safe.” Clive Sellers, Arcus Managing Partner and Principal Designer.

Wearing a hard hat, maintaining it and storing it appropriately, and being more concussion and head injury awareness are all vital to keeping hard hat wearers safe. Even a minor brain injury can have a major impact, so take time to stop work, report the incident and recover fully before returning to work.

HHAW want wearers to be safe and comfortable at all times, and by participating, we can all help drive awareness across all industries and help keep people safe. Find out more on Headway’s website.
