As part of Arcus’s CSR pledge, all staff members receive one day a year to volunteer for a charity of their choice. Joanne, Nicola and Ellie from our Liverpool office, together with Sophie from the Manchester office, chose to spend their day helping the Halle O’Brien CIC by volunteering at Halle’s Hub Regifting Sale, which is one of their biggest fundraisers.
Christmas is their busiest time of the year for the Halle’s Hub as they plan activities for the local children, sending them to the panto, elf at the plaza cinema and provide all year-round support so that many children are able to attend after school activities, extra lessons, and clubs which they would otherwise have been unable to. Funds raised will also support the Students Alone at Christmas project and provide presents to children who otherwise would not receive a gift on Christmas Day.
Gifts were wrapped, toys cleaned and batteries replaced, turning pre-loved items into new gifts, also preventing tons of recyclable items going to landfill. The event raised an incredible £6,200.
Joanne has been heavily involved with Halle’s Hub for the last two years, helping with events, fundraising and preparation for the regifting sale.
